F.A.C.T. is a “place” where families
living with Autism Spectrum Disorder
can come to feel part of a community. |
You become part of a new family that understands and embraces your journey and helps you and your whole family navigate through the world of Autism and Aspergers. You and your children are no longer alone. Kids who participate in F.A.C.T. programs grow up together with their peers and friends. They create their own social life through the friends they see at socialization groups and camp and build memories through activities they participate in together with their siblings and other families.
We are a not for profit agency where all members of the board are parents of children with Autism and Aspergers. They are all part of the F.A.C.T. family. The F.A.C.T. family also wrote a book called “Our Journey Through High Functioning Autism and Asperger Syndrome: A Roadmap”, edited by Linda Andron. We are a small agency and stay that way because we believe that it assists us in providing the best for our families. Our services include support/socialization groups serving Los Angeles and Orange County, California, family outings, summer camp, Relationship Development Intervention, behavior intervention services in the school setting (Non-Public Agency) and through the Regional Center.
In order to help our families feel supported and part of a community, we sponsor activities that range from sporting events to camping trips. These trips are open to all families of children on the spectrum, regardless of participation in other aspects of our program.
Linda Andron-Ostrow the director of F.A.C.T., founded this agency because she understood the importance of creating a community where parents and kids can feel part of something, a “place” where you can both learn and Then educate others. She has brought her many years of experience in the field and at UCLA to the creation and growth of this community with the help and guidance of our board and families. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an RDI® Certified Consultant.
