Bridge to a Better Quality of Life
As pioneers in the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), FACT has brought leading edge therapies combined with robust family support to hundreds of families, from first diagnosis, through early childhood development, the teen years, high school and beyond.
FACT Transition Programs are designed to support individuals in building a sense of self determination and personal preference through life experiences, laying a strong foundation for “bridging the gap” as they transition from their younger years into their independence.
Generating All Possibilities (GAP)
Starting in the fall of 2011, FACT’s new “GAP” Experience (Generating All Possibilities) will provide a unique, affordable exploratory year for special needs young adults. This experiental program provides an array of post secondary options including college, vocational education, national service, apprenticeships and creating their own micro enterprise. Individualized independent living plans and support are provided to those making the transition to living on their own.
Transitional Independent Living Program
For young adults wanting to make the transition from living at home or graduating from a residential setting, FACT offers individualized independent living plans to support participants to live on their own, either alone or with roommates.
Emerging Leaders
This program offers young adults an opportunity to hone their leadership skills and knowledge, including working as mentors for younger clients and their families, assisting with teens in transition, and serving as junior counselors at summer and school break programs.
Weekend Roundabouts
Twice a month 6th-12th graders meet for team building activities, community service projects and life experience outings that focus on teaching individuals in the group mobility training, executive functioning and life skills training.
