Emerging Leaders Program
Building Leadership Skills and Knowledge
At FACT we see our young adults as “emerging leaders”. This innovative program, tailored to the abilities of individuals, offers young adults with special needs an opportunity to hone their leadership skills and knowledge. For as little as a $50 monthly membership fee (young adults participating in any FACT service participate in this program at no charge), activities include:
- Assisting with FACT’s teen transition programs, community service projects, special trips and adventures, while at the same time enjoying the camaraderie of their peers.
- Facilitating diversity education as part of the YMCA’s Service Opportunity Learning Program.
- Serving as junior counselors during summer and school break programs.
- Participation in autism education programs. Drawing from personal experiences, this invitation-only panel of Emerging Leaders educates groups and organizations on the challenges of autism, and how those affected can become productive members of society.
Better socialization, team building and the path to independence starts with a phone call. Please call for more information or to schedule a consultation. We welcome you as part of the FACT family.
