Weekend Roundabouts

A Weekend Group-Centered Program

Twice a month on Saturdays, 6th-12th graders meet for team building activities and community service outings and projects that focus on mobility, executive function and life skills training.

Each member of the group will play a role in planning the activities and determining what the group’s needs and desires are, and most importantly, have fun.

Experiences can range from planning and going to restaurants, movies, museums, bookstores and libraries to planning, parties, and barbecues.

Staff will provide the support needed to allow Weekend Roundabout members to experience lasting social connections and develop a strong sense of teamwork.

Specific developmental areas are:

  • Mobility Training – Weekend Roundabouts will place strong focus on teaching participants how to take the bus in and around LA.
  • Life Skills – group members learn how to create a Circle of Support. Activities incorporate social skills and relationship development, problem solving, relaxation techniques, character building, developing self esteem and good character, cooperation skills, self confidence, time management and organization.
  • Executive Functioning Skills – specific to each groups capabilities, each participant will be able to showcase a skill they are well accomplished in, as well as develop skills they have not yet mastered.  The group dynamic will support each person at their particular point in development.

Weekend Roundabouts provide added support for improved socialization, team building and greater independence. Call us to see how your child can best benefit from this program.
